The Cancer Killers Book: The Cause is the Cure Review

What if you knew the secrets to having a healthy body that would not be susceptible to illness like colds and flu. What if you took it a step further and never had to worry about getting diseases like Cancer? “The Cancer Killers: The Cause is the Cure“, has been written to help you understand how you can optimized your health and turn your body into a Cancer Killer.

About the Book

Written by Dr. Charles Majors and Dr. Ben Lerner, The Cancer Killers book aims to help you understand more about the disease of Cancer, the business of Cancer and the risks of conventional Cancer treatments.

You will learn and begin to see how you have it within you to fight off all diseases and help your immune system do what is it designed to do: Keep you healthy!

Learn what foods are good for you, which ones need to be avoided and even how much exercise is optimum for health when you read this book. Dr. Majors also describes his own personal experience with Stage IV cancer and how he found his path to recovery through simple (yet obviously effective) ways of living.

Cancer, like all illnesses, is a symptom. It is a result of something weakened and not working right in your body. You will learn how to strengthen your body and make things right, so that illnesses can not grow and thrive within you.

The Business of Cancer

It’s no surprise that people are suspicious of Cancer cures and treatments. The pharmaceutical industry collects millions upon millions of dollars for their Cancer drugs and equipment and even organizations dedicated to Cancer research stand to gain from keeping Cancer a threat.

Let’s face it, if Cancer was cured, drug companies would lose billions. Organizations would go out of business because there would be no need to raise money for cures and there would be no money to pay staff. Many people make their living off ‘finding a Cancer cure‘ but the sad truth is, the ones who profit from diseases like Cancer do not want it to be cured.

In 1971, The National Cancer Act was signed and The National Cancer Institute (NCI) was established. Empowered and designed to fund Cancer research, NCI has allocated hundreds of millions of dollars over the last four decades and are really no further along in finding a cure than they were 40 years ago.

How You Can Cure Cancer Naturally

This is not a book about miracles. There is no real secret in becoming a Cancer Killer. Your body is already designed to be one. The key lies in education. You must become educated on how to eat healthy, what foods and toxins to avoid and what vitamins, herbs and supplements are beneficial (and which ones are not).

Your body is designed to filter out toxins and keep you in a constant state of good health. However, with fast food restaurants, pesticide and chemical-laden fruits and vegetables and various other toxins in personal care products, our bodies have a hard time keeping up. The Western diet, poor farming practices and lethargic lifestyle has only made things worse for our health and it’s no surprise that Cancer and other illnesses are steadily on the rise.

By reading this book, you will learn how to make better food choices and discover the types of exercise essential for good health. Use of Chiropractic treatments and supplementing your diet with essential vitamins, herbs and minerals will not only help you reach optimum health, it will help you pass on those lifestyle choices to your family so future generations can make Cancer a thing of the past.

What our ancestors called food, we now call organic. We are exposed daily to harmful toxins and must educate ourselves on how to reach optimum health. It is up to us to re-learn how to live and eat healthy so we can take control of our own healthcare. The key to fighting Cancer is by not getting it in the first place and your first step is in reading “The Cancer Killers” book! It is a book I will refer to again, and again, and again and I strongly suggest you do the same!

Natural & Organic Health Products: What You Need to Know

ImageWondering what all the hype is about? You are not alone!

What are Natural & Organic Health Products anyways?

Well, if you are like most consumers, you are now paying a bit more attention to ‘safe’ and ‘green’ products for healthy living.

If you are also like most consumers you are confused as heck as to what a healthy natural product is anyways!

Let’s face it, the ingredients on the labels today are so crazy, it’s hard to tell what is a synthetic man-made chemical and which ones are long names for essential oils and plant essences!

Natural vs Organic: Is there a difference?

Sure, Organic ingredients are those that have not come into contact with pesticides or other harmful, toxic ingredients during their processing. Natural Ingredients, well, these are debatable. Natural can mean “exists in nature“, or natural as in “no additives“.

Companies use these words all the time and interchange them as they see fit.

Are Natural Products Safer?

That depends really. What are the ingredients? Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is natural, derived from natural plant sources that is, but it’s highly irritating and toxic to skin and eyes. Also, what other ingredients are included in the product? It’s great to have a “natural” shampoo with some essential oils but if you have a bunch of other toxic ingredients in there, it’s not really safe is it?

Are Organic Products Safer?

Same things as above. If a product says “Made with Organic Ingredients” or “Contains Organic Plant Essences” it means nothing! It needs to be certified organic and even then you need to check. Often you will find some organic ingredients mixed in with non-organic. Crazy stuff!

Finding Safe and Non-Toxic Products

Not easy! Even your local health and wellness store (big and small) will often carry products they ‘think’ are safe, but really, they still contain some of the toxic ingredients. The most common in something like fragrance. I can’t tell you how many stores I visit that offer brands I know are bad, but the owners don’t know any different (Or they do and don’t care, not sure on this one!)

I’ve been accused before of jumping on the ‘green’ wagon and that because I sell my products for profit I am just fear-mongering without any scientific evidence. (Yes, you all know who are you our there!)  🙂   The truth is, I believe in both arguments. I do believe some advocate groups go a bit far to prove their point and don’t always use valid points. However, I believe even more that the government really sucks at doing their job protecting consumers and is totally incapable and unwilling to do what needs to be done.

Look at companies like P&G that make so many products. Why do they care if their food products contains additives and food colorings that may lead to behavioral disorders in children? They manufacture Concerta, a very popular ADHD drug prescribed to children or any children who ‘seem to have ADHD’ today. What’s the big deal for these big companies? Their products cause reactions and they have more products to be the solution!

I can see their little hamsters running now:

“Oh, our body and face bar contains ingredients that dry out your skin and make you develop atopic dermatitis (eczema)?  No worries, just use our over-the-counter cream to treat your eczema.”

Or how about:

“Interesting, these food colors make these kids active crazy hyper and lose their focus in school. Many teachers think the kids are ADHD and are telling parents to just get them on drugs. So now they take anti-psychotic drugs that do only gosh knows what to their development and if they develop side effects or long term problems, well, we’ve got drugs for that too! Keep the money coming!”

Finding Natural and Organic Stores you Can Trust

They do exist! You may have to look hard and likely they don’t make too many products in really large quantities, but there are manufacturers out there you can trust. Be careful too though, many ‘natural’ companies can take advantage of this whole ‘green fear-mongering’ and offer you products that aren’t really that safe either or tested to be safe!

Look around, check out a company’s profile and social media pages like facebook, twitter, etc. What do their customers say? Do they promote other related companies, letting you know that they really do stand behind their mission statement? Are their prices super high (or insanely low?) Do they offer any sketchy products mixed in with ones that you know are good?

I could just say shop with NaturaleGREEN but I don’t need to do that! As a consumer you have find companies you can trust and also learn how to read labels so that shopping isn’t as scary as it is now. There are other companies like ours though, that are dedicated to providing safer products for consumers. We are always here though if you have questions and want to learn more about chemicals to avoid. Feel free to drop by our site at where you can browse products that have already met our criteria and also read hundreds of articles to help you gain a better understanding of Natural vs. Organic vs. Safe vs. Not!

Centrum Materna Prenatal Vitamins Tampered With: Danger

July 22, 2011 – Health Canada advised the public that the multivitamin “Centrum Materna” has been found to be the victim of tampering. A bottle of the prenatal multivitamin was found in Winnipeg, Manitoba at a Shopper’s Drug Mart, and contained unidentified capsules in it.

Warning to Expectant Mother’s Using Centrum Materna

Health Canada is letting the public know that the regular prenatal multivitamin tablets found in the Centrum Materna bottles are pink and oval-shaped. The seal of this one bottle was removed which is why it is suspected that it was tampered with.

If you have purchased any bottles of Centrum Materna in the Winnipeg area, inspect your bottle to ensure the following:

  • Proper tablets are inside (pink and oval-shaped)
  • Security seal is in place
  • Pill says “Materna” on one side and “M|4” on the other side
  • Pill is a tablet, not a capsule. That means it is a solid form and not a container holding either gel, powder or mini beads.

Safety Precautions for Centrum Materna Prenatal Multivitamin

If you have consumed Centrum Materna prenatal multivitamins that do not look like the photo below, contact your doctor and bring the pills with you. If you have a bottle of Centrum Materna and aren’t sure if it is safe or not, consult  your pharmacist and show him/her the bottle.

Dangers of ADHD Drugs and Anti-Depressants: Child Suicide

June14, 2010 – Harry Hucknall was 10 years old when he took his own life. Diagnosed as having ADHD and prescribed both Ritalin and Prozac, Harry had mentioned feelings of unwell and did not appear to be happy. Tests have revealed he had higher doses than a normal adult would have had for the same problems. Harry was not alone, hundreds of children have died from drug-related deaths, ADHD drugs that is.

What ADHD or ADD Is and Why It Needs Treatment

ADHD or ADD is a condition that stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The main difference between ADHD and ADD is the hyperactivity component. For the sake of simplicity, we will refer to the condition as ADHD.

Children with ADHD have trouble focusing and concentrating. They don’t always follow instructions, forget things quickly, have a hard time socially with peers and often can’t sit still for long periods of time. It is hard to make an ADHD diagnosis until the child is school-age, that is, one he is in a structured classroom setting. Drug guidelines are set to not be administered to any child under the age of six, because before then, it is quite impossible to tell if the child has ADHD or not.

Many pharmaceutical drugs have been created to treat ADHD, though the safety and effectiveness of these drugs is really not yet proven. The only drug that has been around long enough to understand long-term effects is Ritalin and it has been proven to be dangerous and lead to addiction tendencies. However, most doctors and educators push to treat these children with mind-altering drugs so they fit into the norm. Often, more than one drug is prescribed and children end up on a “cocktail” of drugs.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe ADHD does need treatment – but not with mind-altering drugs that have known side effects and unknown long-term health hazards. I am a mother of an ADHD child and have been though it all. I understand the frustrations and trials. I know parents want their children to behave and to do well in school, but pharmaceutical medications, especially ONLY pharmaceutical medications, are not the answer. You need behavioral techniques to be applied and must understand how your child thinks to help her discover the tools she’ll need to succeed in life.

Children Dying From ADHD Drug Treatments

Doctors often don’t disclose the dangers of ADHD drugs. They may mention some “common” side effects such as problems sleeping, loss of weight, loss of appetite and irritability but rarely do they mention the “other” side effects.

Did you know – many ADHD drugs can cause:

  • Depression
  • Suicidal Thoughts and Tendencies
  • Heart Attacks

Doctors rarely make sure parents know about these side effects and understand the risks their children are taking when they go with this ADHD treatment. In my personal opinion, I think all parents should have to sign a waiver of sort, that outlines the drug(s) their children will take and ALL the side effects (common or not). It needs to be 100% certain that parents realize how serious these drugs are – they are not vitamins and just because millions of kids take them each day, does not mean they are safe.

Diagnosing ADHD in Children

So how is ADHD diagnosed? It is a term that was invented 50 years ago and covered a variety of symptoms. There is no concrete or absolute test for ADHD. Basically, to diagnose ADHD parents and educators will be asked to ‘evaluate’ the child on their behavior and especially compared to their peers. A psychiatrist will then evaluate the results, compare them to peer levels and decide whether or not your child is ‘up to par‘.

A study, done by Todd Elder, indicated that nearly one million children in the U.S may be misdiagnosed with ADHD based on this method of ADHD testing. The reasoning behind it deals with children who are the youngest of the classroom. In some cases, children who enter kindergarten when they are four (typically those that have birthdays at the end of year) will be almost one year younger than their peers. Developmentally, they will always be more immature than their peers and when evaluated in comparison to them, they will be seen as “not equal.” (Well no kidding! One year is a big difference when it comes to children.)

Dangers of ADHD Drug Treatments and Children That Have Died

The next couple of paragraphs will be sad and readers are warned of the fact.

Adrian David Wade - Suicide: Strattera

Taken from the page of National Alliance Against Mandated Mental Health Screening and Psychiatric Drugging of Children, the following children have died from being on ADHD drugs:

  • Stephanie Hall – 11 years old. Ritalin.
  • Louise Dunkle – 10 years old. Desipramine.
  • Matthew Smith – 14 years old. Ritalin.
  • Adrian David Wade – 12 years old. Strattera. (Suicide).
  • Leanne Bessner – 15 years old. Concerta.(Suicide).
  • Macauley Showalter – 7 years old. Ritalin and 3 other psychiatric drugs.
  • Randy Steel – 9 years old. Dexedrine and other drugs.
  • Cameron Pettus – 12 years old. Desipramine.
  • Travis Neal – 13 years old. Ritalin.
  • Harry Hucknall – 10. Ritalin. (Suicide).

These children, and many more died from side effects caused by the ADHD drugs: heart attacks, organ toxicity or suicide.

Seeing Through The Eyes of ADHD Children

For just one moment, let’s try to put ourselves in their shoes. The ones who are diagnoses with this very subjective disorder.

“I am a child, I like to play and have fun. It feels good when someone tells me I did something right, but that doesn’t  happen often. I don’t know why, but I find it hard to sit still like everyone else. I know I should sit and read the textbook like my teacher tells me too, but I am just not interested in in and my mind is so busy with other thoughts.

I like to figure out how things work. I love it when I have free time and I can do puzzles and draw and make things work. Often I don’t clean up right away but that’s just because there is SO much I want to do, so much I want to learn. My mind is full of ideas, and thoughts and it makes me happy and excited! I can’t wait to try all these things, build new things and put my ideas on paper! I like to act and sing and play music and wish I could just express myself all the time that way.

The teachers tell me to sit still, and write out the answers a certain way. I don’t see them like that. They show me a math problem and tell me to write out all the steps individually to show how I got the answer. But my mind doesn’t work that way. I know the answer, I SEE the answer. I also see the BIG picture and how everything fits together, but teachers don’t want to see that, they want to see the small version. How do you explain to someone how to feel happy? How do you explain the steps you would go through to feel that feeling?  You can’t, it’s just something that happens. That is how I think and learn. I can’t really explain it, it’s just what I know and if it’s right, why do they tell me I’m wrong?

I don’t follow instructions well all the time and have trouble expressing myself properly. People misunderstand me all time and it really hurts. I think I’m following instructions and feeling proud of myself for doing something, only to get in trouble for not doing something else that I was supposed to do. I’m always in trouble, I’m always grounded. I don’t think I’m very smart because I’m in trouble all the time and people yell and get angry with me, sometimes they call me stupid and tell me I will never succeed in life. They are probably right. Even though I know a lot, I can’t explain what I know and I can’t do it the way the teachers want me to do it, so I probably won’t succeed in this world because I just don’t fit in. They don’t understand.

I think my parents love me, they say they do, but they are angry and sad and feel frustrated. I think I failed them, I’m not who they wanted me to be. I try so hard, each day I promise I’ll do better and I’ll listen, but somehow, things don’t work out that way and I end up messing up again and again and again. I wish I wasn’t here sometimes, the sadness is so much for me, I feel horrible most of the time and I get tired of trying to make things work out. It seems no matter how hard I try, things still mess up and I get in trouble. I feel their anger, their disappointment and it makes me dark inside. I don’t feel that happiness or joy inside me, it’s hard to think of positive things when all I feel is dark and alone.

I don’t belong here, I don’t fit in. It’s sort of like how a blind person goes through life: ” They don’t see like you or I do, they don’t use their eyes. They see things differently and do things differently but they get the job done.”

I see things differently, this I can not explain.”

The above quotation was not written by an ADHD child, but it could have been. It was written by me, a mother of an ADHD child and researcher of ADHD children.  We need to see through their eyes to understand how they think. They do not think like we do and asking them to do so is like asking a foreigner to “just speak” our language without any training.

I am a mother, my son has been through many conventional and non-conventional ADHD treatments. He has suffered some of the worst side effects listed with pharmaceutical ADHD drugs and through our experiences we have come to learn more about him and how he thinks and learns.

There is no easy answer here, no quick-fix solution. The first step is understanding and committing to working with our children. Avoiding pharmaceutical drugs is a good choice, at least until all other avenues have been fully tried. Education and awareness are key to helping our ADHD children and it begins with you: The Parent, Caregiver and Educator.

Crying Babies, Christmas Crafts, Shortbread and Watkins Business

Soothe Crying Baby

It is a form of communication and for their first few months, the only form of communication your baby is really good at. Unfortunately, a crying baby can make many people uneasy, including mom. Finding ways to soothe a crying baby may help reduce tension and frustration and help baby rest easier.

Understand the Different Cries That Baby Makes and Reasons Why They Cry

Babies cry for many reasons. They can be tired, hungry, not feeling well, needing comfort or overstimulated. In time, you will learn what your baby’s cries mean and will be able to address them accordingly.

If baby is crying because she is hungry, you would simply feed her. For all other cries, the solution is not as simple. If she is crying because she doesn’t feel well, she won’t be able to really tell you how she feels and it won’t be easy treating her. If she is tired, she may have a hard time falling asleep. If she needs comfort, a simple hug may work or she may need to be rocked to sleep.  Continue Reading… How to Soothe a Crying Baby

Pregnancy Signs, Christmas Shopping & Baking and Daylight Savings Time

Symptoms and Signs of Pregnancy

Whether you are trying to get pregnant or are not sure if you are pregnant, you should know the common signs of pregnancy. Many women don’t recognize these symptoms and signs right away, but the first trimester is a very important one for baby’s development, so the sooner you know that you are pregnant, the sooner a healthy pregnancy can be established.

Common Symptoms and Signs of Pregnancy

There are many symptoms that can indicate you may be pregnant, though some of these symptoms may also occur during your menstrual cycle as well.

  • Tender and swollen breasts: Two weeks after conception, hormonal changes in your body can make your breasts tender or sore. Breasts may also feel heavier and fuller.
  • Fatigue: As the levels of hormones and progesterone soar, you may feel very tired. Lower blood sugar levels, lower blood pressure and more blood production can also contribute to fatigue.
  • Minimal bleeding or cramping: This is known as implantation bleeding, when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterus lining. It is light bleeding and will be lighter in color than a regular period. Cramping, similar to those of menstrual cramps, is also a common symptom of pregnancy.
  • Nausea and/or vomiting: Also known as “morning sickness,” early pregnancy symptoms often included nausea with or without vomiting.
  • Heightened sense of smell: Many pregnant women are sensitive to certain smells and exposure to certain scents may lead to nausea.
  • Food cravings/aversions:Craving certain foods is common if you are pregnant and so is being turned off by certain foods. These cravings or aversions are most dramatic during the first trimester due to major hormonal changes.
  • Headaches:Increased blood circulation can trigger headaches.
  • Constipation: Increases in progesterone will lead to food passing more slowly through your intestines and may result in constipation.
  • Mood swings: Hormonal changes can increase your chances of becoming overly emotional. Being weepy and emotional is a common sign of pregnancy.
  • Dizziness or fainting: When blood vessels dilate your blood pressure drops and results in lightheadedness or dizziness, and some women even faint. It can also be due to low blood sugar, which is common in early pregnancy.
  • Raised basal body temperature: Your oral temperature first thing in the morning is called your basal body temperature. It raises after ovulation and drops off during your period. If the temperature is at continued elevation, it can be a sign that you are pregnant.

Changes in Appearance May Indicate Pregnancy

Women who suspect they may be pregnant can also be on the lookout for certain changes in their appearance, including the following:  Continue Reading…. Symptoms and Signs of Pregnancy: Are You Pregnant?
